Kashmiri Saffron

Pure Mongra Kesar from Pampore β€” The World's Finest Saffron

Looking for real Kashmiri saffron? You're in the right place. Our saffron comes straight from Pampore, Kashmir β€” the only place in the world where this premium spice grows at 1,600 meters above sea level. We sell only Mongra grade saffron. This is the highest grade you can buy. It contains only the deep red tips of the saffron flower β€” no yellow parts, no fillers. Every batch is GI certified and lab tested. Just 5-8 threads can flavor an entire dish because our saffron is that potent. Why do people choose Kashmiril? We work directly with farmers in Pampore. No middlemen. This means you get fresh saffron at honest prices, and farmers get fair pay.

Common Questions

Everything About Our Products

How do I know if saffron is real?

Do the water test. Drop threads in warm water. Real saffron releases color slowly over 10-15 minutes and stays red. Fake saffron colors water instantly and often turns pale or breaks apart.

How much saffron should I use?

Start with 5-8 threads for tea or milk. Use 10-15 threads for biryani or pulao. A 1-gram jar contains about 450 threads β€” enough for 30-50 uses.

How should I store saffron?

Keep it in the original airtight jar. Store in a cool, dark place away from sunlight and moisture. Properly stored saffron stays fresh for 2-3 years.

Why is Kashmiri saffron so expensive?

Each flower produces only 3 stigmas (threads). It takes 150,000 flowers to make 1 kg of saffron. Everything is handpicked at dawn during a 2-week harvest window. This makes it the most labor-intensive spice on earth.

What's the difference between Mongra and other grades?

Mongra is the top grade β€” only the red tips without any yellow style. Lower grades include yellow parts that add weight but dilute potency. Our saffron is 100% Mongra.

Is your saffron organic?

Kashmiri saffron is traditionally grown without chemicals. Our farmers use age-old natural methods. While not certified organic, the farming practices are completely natural.
